From the many comments that I heard on the wedding day, it seems like Greg & Lucille’s wedding day was a long time coming! In fact, if I can remember correctly, they had been together for 23 years before they got married last week at an intimate ceremony at the Spruce Grove United church surrounded by close friends and family. There seemed to have been a good bit of teasing that it took Greg so long to get married.
The wedding was fun for me too since Greg is my second (maybe third) cousin and I got to see a side of the Dalton family that I hadn’t seen since I was about 2 feet tall.
After the ceremony, the wedding party and I headed off to nearby Stony Plain for their “formal” wedding photos. We first stopped at the little garden behind City Hall for the first round of pictures. It was a recent discovery while Sheri and I were cruising around town heading back from Jasper a couple weeks ago and it was just perfect for Greg & Lucille’s wedding photos. After a quick stop at McDonald’s for refreshments (it was a hot day!), we headed over to Rotary Park in Stony Plain for the last round of photos and this picture is one of my favourites from this location.
I love the look of a casual stroll (whilst fighting off mosquitos, no surprise there!) through the park and how the bride and groom are the only people in the world at this point in time. Congratulations Greg & Lucille! Here’s to another 23 years and so much more!

So, we’re going back to the past summer for this shoot that I did for the Ramada Kingsway in Edmonton for their ad in Weddings in Alberta. I’d never been in the Ramada in Edmonton and I was surprised at how big the ballroom was and how pretty it could be decorated. I really loved the aqua, grey and yellow theme with the white accents with linens and the centrepiece from Special Event Rentals. We called in Edmonton Wedding Planner Julianne Cragg of A Modern Proposal Event Planning to help complete the tables with some favours and table numbers she had on hand that went perfect with the colour scheme. There were lots of pretty wedding details to photograph… and then came the food!!
The food looked GOOD but it TASTED even better! Of course we got to sample everything after it was photographed and it was delicious. The Ramada can handle large weddings (up to 700 people i Think) in their spacious ballroom and it can also do smaller weddings as well and makes for a great wedding venue not far out of downtown Edmonton.

The winter tends to be a bit slow for Edmonton wedding photographers so that’s the time we get to have lots of fun and create inspiration shoots. Let’s rewind a few months to February for this wintery vintage-inspired tablescape designed by Edmonton Wedding Planner Julia Pringle from Once Upon Your Day. We had waited until February in hopes of having lots of snow… no such luck there! At least there as little bit of snow so things weren’t barren, but we were hoping for piles of the white stuff to complement this white and creme table set up with hints of red from the surrounding cherry trees. The fabulous rosette table linen and beaded chargers were from Elegant Touches, the chair covers and jewelled accents were from A Chair to Remember and the gorgeous cameo-inspired cakes were made by Style Cakes. The vintage-inspired brooch bouquet was by by the Wild Orchid Flower Shop. The retro chandelier was from my studio (originally purchased from Urban Barn). The menu card was from PinkPolka Design.

It seems like forever ago since Robyn & Tom’s wedding at the end of August. I’ve been saving this gem of a wedding, and well, I just couldn’t wait any longer! It’s not that often (at all???) that you get to see a wedding that took place on an airplane. Yup! That’s right! Their ceremony was ON AN AIRPLANE!! Robyn and Tom are darn cool people, so it makes sense that they’d have a super cool wedding that was partially planned by my friend Juli at A Modern Proposal. Ok, are you ready for the awesomeness?
I loved Robyn’s yellow pendant.
The airplane hankie was a gift from her grandmother nd was just the perfect touch for the wedding theme!
Tom had fantastic airplane cuff links!
The girls got a little silly.
Just so you know… all of these shoes were Robyn’s…
Pretty dress, but it put up a good fight when it came to putting it on… probably should have taken the hanger out
Robyn was so expressive!!
Love this getting ready shot!
SHe might have been a little nervous…

A few weeks ago I was in Red Deer for Maria & Kevin’s gorgeous wedding in Coronation Park. We we lucky to have great weather for the outdoor ceremony and for the bridal photos in the park. Maria had wanted something with a little bit of spice so we went for a sexy wedding photo in one of the gorgeous trees in the park. This is probably my favourite photo from the whole day (maybe to be rivalled by some of the photos during the crazy hail storm later that day!). More to come soon!
