Yesterday was a gorgeous, but windy, day here in Edmonton. Amy and Chris were married just over a month ago in Cuba where they had a destination wedding. They decided to have a reception for their friends and family back in Edmonton. We did a few shots of the happy couple together before heading into photograph the reception for the evening. This is one of my favourite shots from the 15 minutes we did of formal photos of just the couple. More to come in the full post covering the reception in a couple weeks!

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010This is kinda fun! I knew when I took this ring shot that it was going to be fabulous. I submitted it for fun to the Wedding Photographic Society, just because, and it won second place in the details category. Go me! Gosh, I love getting my hands on the wedding rings! Here’s where the other winning shots are: http://weddingphotographicsociety.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=733

Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Christine & Jamie’s wedding at the Devonian Gardens, near Devon, AB
Tuesday, July 27th, 2010July 17, 2010 was a wickedly hot Saturday with sunshine and pretty blue skies and I found myself hanging out with the boys (for a change) while they got ready as I second shot for Elana Sacino of Starshine Photography for Christine and Jamie’s wedding. It’s nice to be the second shooter sometimes because you get to be around a much calmer and relaxed atmosphere with the guys. Once everyone was ready, we headed south to the Devonion Gardens where the ceremony took place on the newly finished wedding patio. Everyone looked spectacular and I was in love with the flowers from Graham and Lane. We also shot the bridal party formals at the Devonian Gardens and I got to spend lots of time with just the bridal party and they were amazing! It was lots of fun spending time on getting great shots to show them off! Congratulations to Christine and Jamie, it was a beautiful day!

Rockin’ the Dress with Amanda – Downtown Edmonton Bridal Shoot
Thursday, March 11th, 2010I was pretty excited for today! My lovely model Amanda is actually a photographer as well (www.lightsidephoto.com) and she was a joy to photograph! I think she does as well in front of the camera as she does behind it! Me, on the other hand, I definitely belong behind the camera and nowhere near the front of it, and I’m ok with that! We were also joined today by Harvey of Love Bucket Photography and his brother Steven. They were awesome on helping out with some of the lighting and they were shooting too. The other exciting part of today is that I went and signed the lease for my new studio space downtown! I’m super excited for it! It’s on 105 St and Jasper Ave, coincidentilly, that’s where we also went to get Amanda’s hair done by my good friend Patricia who is a goddess of hair and she works at Celebrity Hair, which is my new upstairs neighbour! I stopped next door to arrange for flowers the shoot and procured the most amazing bouquet from The Wild Orchid! I think I love my new neighbours already!
So anyway, back to the awesome photos! We shot in the alley behind the salon, then just down the street in front of an empty building, then went back to the salon to warm up and then went down to the basement by my favourite elevator ever (yes, I think we will see lots more of it!) before heading off to an old garage at 118 Ave and 97 St to finish up the day. I’m super happy about the images, and I’m looking forward to wedding season starting to shoot even more fabulous brides and grooms!
