We set up a photo booth for the first time at Patti & Raj’s wedding, and after sorting out a few kinks, I think it turned out to be fabulous entertainment for the guests, and it was great to see everyone just be silly after a long day. I’ve called it a Gigglebooth, because, well, it makes me giggle a little to see people dressed up wearing silly hats and playing with foam swords. It’s a good chance to be silly, be we also took a few more serious group shots too. It’s a fun way for your wedding guests to get photos with you and it’s fun for the people who don’t want to be on the dance floor all night to have a chance to let loose a little bit too… with photographic evidence! It’s not an enclosed photobooth so there’s room for lots of people in the photos.
If you were a guest at Patti & Raj’s wedding, you can see the whole gallery here: http://www.elizabethvanderbij.com/photo-store/ Images are available for free download for a mid-res file and prints can be purchased too.
Here’s a few of my favourites from the night:

Edmonton Portrait Photographer | Hanging out with Ashton
A little while back I tagged along on a conceptual portrait shoot with Becky from Just For You Photography to the outskirts of Edmonton where she found a fabulous spot with concrete foundation from a torn down house. I shot along with Becky and did a few set ups of my own. It was pretty cool to see how we both interpretted the same scene. Ashton was a fantastic model and made the job pretty easy for us. I amazed by how composed she was considering the swarm of mosquitos that was following us, or maybe it was just me they were following. This a different type of session for me since it was way more serious than I usually am, and I think I ruined a few shots cracking jokes, but I just like to keep people laughing! So, here’s a few of my favourite photos from our evening in the field.

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Amy & Chris | Sneak Peek
Yesterday was a gorgeous, but windy, day here in Edmonton. Amy and Chris were married just over a month ago in Cuba where they had a destination wedding. They decided to have a reception for their friends and family back in Edmonton. We did a few shots of the happy couple together before heading into photograph the reception for the evening. This is one of my favourite shots from the 15 minutes we did of formal photos of just the couple. More to come in the full post covering the reception in a couple weeks!
Jasper Ave engagement session with Carla & Nathan
This past Sunday I met up with Carla and Nathan in downtown Edmonton near the Union Bank Inn for their engagement session! We’re just 2 months away from their wedding and I so can’t wait! We shot in the road on Jasper, and surprisingly, there wasn’t as much traffic as I was hoping for, but it stll worked out! I had a great time with these and I think they are just the sweetest people ever! Now, look at how cute they are!!
