Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Tamara & Cory | Sneak Peek

It just poured and poured and poured on Tamara and Cory’s wedding day. I really didn’t think it was possible for it to rain just that much in one day… SO we had a few locations picked out to take photos, and of course, with the rain, we had to go with the back-up plan. I just love shooting in parking garages! Especially on Friday evenings when all the cars are gone and we can do whatever we want! I think concrete can be very pretty when photographed the right way… like for Tamara & Cory’s photos! Love them! Here’s one of my favourites!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Ashley & Kevin | Sneak Peek

Ashley and Kevin had a beautiful Canada Day wedding and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect (we’ll not talk about the mosquitos that ruined our fireworks photo opportunity). We got to take their wedding photos at the beautiful Mill Creek Nursery in southeast Edmonton. More details to come on their full wedding post, but for now, enjoy this one!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Kelly & Dwight’s wedding at the Muttart Conservatory

Kelly and Dwight share the same anniversary long weekend as Derek and I do and I was very excited to photograph their wedding. I met up with the girls at Kelly’s parent’s home for the getting ready and was instantly in love with Kelly’s sparkly silver Stuart Weitzman shoes. They were fabulous! Kelly had an army of ladies helping her get into her gorgeous dress before we headed into the backyard for a few photos before the awesome limo arrived to whisk them away to church. Kelly had a gorgeous white bouquet from Flowers By Merle (Coincidentily, that’s where my wedding flowers were from too!). The ceremony was at St Theresa’s and was filled with friends and family. Afterwards we headed to the Kinsman Park area for photos under the bridge before going to the Muttart Conservatory for the reception. The reception was absolutely fantastic, the dancefloor was packed! This was my first wedding with DJ Kwake from Urban Metropolis (who seems to be following me now since they keep showing up at a lot of my weddings lately… and I don’t mind, they rock!) and know I totally understand why they are so popular! Here’s the highlights from Kelly & Dwight’s wedding, thank you so much for letting me capture all the action!

Kananaskis Wedding Photographer| Kaliegh & Mike’s wedding at Nakoda Lodge | Sneak peek

I was all set to have last weekend off and not shoot any weddings, but was lured to the Canmore area because I wanted to shoot with John Boccabella again. He always has such beautiful weddings. So I packed up friday morning and got hopelessly lost on my way to Canmore. Turns out it was Kananaskis that I was heading to and my GPS didn’t have the sense to tell me otherwise. I admit I got a little bit lost in an absolutely gorgeous part of the province, but I finally made my way to Nakoda on the Lake (I was still an hour early, whew, good thing I planned to be extra early… or good thing i’m not opposed to driving really fast….) where the wedding was going to take place. It was an extra windy day and I swear I saw a small child fly through the air at one point. Ok, not true, but the extra cute ring bearer and flower girl seemed to have a hard time walking down the aisle against the wind. Despite the wind, it was a gorgeous wedding and I was so happy to be there to help capture it. Here’s on of my favourite’s from the portrait session with lots more to come later!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Patti & Raj’s Gigglebooth Photo Booth

We set up a photo booth for the first time at Patti & Raj’s wedding, and after sorting out a few kinks, I think it turned out to be fabulous entertainment for the guests, and it was great to see everyone just be silly after a long day. I’ve called it a Gigglebooth, because, well, it makes me giggle a little to see people dressed up wearing silly hats and playing with foam swords. It’s a good chance to be silly, be we also took a few more serious group shots too. It’s a fun way for your wedding guests to get photos with you and it’s fun for the people who don’t want to be on the dance floor all night to have a chance to let loose a little bit too… with photographic evidence! It’s not an enclosed photobooth so there’s room for lots of people in the photos.
If you were a guest at Patti & Raj’s wedding, you can see the whole gallery here: http://www.elizabethvanderbij.com/photo-store/ Images are available for free download for a mid-res file and prints can be purchased too.
