I was super excited to head to Banff for Mikaela & Bob’s wedding! We met up with them at Buffalo Mountain Lodge, which has become one of my favourite places in Banff for a wedding, to hang while everyone got ready. I loved Mikaela’s dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses as well (the blue was fabulous!). I also loved the girls’ cowboy boots… they looked awesome with their dresses! After getting ready, we headed into town to the ceremony at the gazebo. After doing family photos be the river, we headed out near Two-Jack Lake to take some photos near the water. We sent Mikaela & Bob out to a little island for some photos of the two of them before sending out the wedding party… I’m so happy they didn’t think I was toooo crazy for making them hike out through the water! We also managed to get the bride & groom into a canoe for a few shots as well before heading to the fields on the way to Bankhead where we also stopped for some champagne and a few photos at the ruin’s of the old church. We had a blast with Mikaela, Bob and the crew… such a good time with a super fun bridal party! We ended the night at Buffalo Mountain Lodge for the beautiful reception featuring sunflowers and amazing horseshoe table numbers that were made by the family. It really couldn’t have been any more perfect! Congratulations Mikaela & Bob!

Banff Wedding Photographers | A+K | Vermilion Lakes wedding sneak peek
We’re going to back to the beginning of September for this gorgeous photo of A+K taken at Vermilion Lakes in Banff National Park. I second shot this wedding for Red Bloom Photography from Calgary and had such a fantastic time. A+K were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Tunnel Mountain Resevoir overlooking Mount Rundle on a perfect early fall day. After visiting many beautiful mountain locations throughout the day, we ended the formal photo session with a few quiet moments overlooking the lake before heading off to Buffalo Mountain Lodge for the rockin’ wedding reception. I love Rocky Mountain weddings!!

Banff Wedding Photographers – Mikaela & Bob – Two Jack Lake sneak peek
I have a little bit of a crush on Banff. When I first moved West, I got really excited about seeing the Rocky Mountains but I couldn’t believe that they were that amazing. I mean, we’ve got mountains on the East Coast, but they were nothing like this! What makes the mountains in Banff even better? Combining them with a wedding, of course! I’m jealous of the local Banff wedding photographers because all this gorgeousness is in their back yard and can spin a full 360 and have amazing locations and views in every direction! I try to get to the mountains as often as I can and I still can’t decide which town I like better between Camore, Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper… four-way tie maybe?
I was super excited for Mikaela and Bob’s wedding in Banff this past weekend. I knew they were a pretty awesome couple, but can you imagine how much more I loved them when I suggested they walk in Two Jack Lake on their wedding day, in full wedding clothes, to get to a little island for their wedding photos and they didn’t look at me like I was crazy? OK, maybe they thought I was a little crazy, I couldn’t tell for sure, but they seemed to be up for anything and boy did that make me get even more excited!
I simply adore this photo, on a teeny little island, with the tree mimicking their pose and surrounded by all the glory of the mountains and the gorgeous green water. Yup, swoon with me for a moment. I’m also fond of this moment since I got wade around in the water on a pretty toasty summer day to the this photo and that couldn’t have been any more perfect. Did I mention we also got the wedding party to hike out through water to the island for photos too? You’ll have to wait for the full wedding post to see that though, this sneak peek is just to show off Mikaela & Bob for now! Congratulations you two, it was a pleasure spending the day you with you and your amazing friends and family!

Lake Louise Wedding Photographer | Nyla & Channce | Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Wedding
I was a little worried when I left Calgary to drive in to Lake Louise for Nyla & Chance’s wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. It was only early October and it was cold and rainy and I knew once I got past Banff it would just get colder driving into the mountains. I got to the hotel (and wow, is it ever spectacular!) and the temperature was hovering just above ) degrees and I was afraid it was going to be too cold for photos outside. I wandered in to catch the boys getting ready in the awesome suite where the ceremony was to take place and then went over to hang out with Nyla and her sister as they were getting ready. There we lots of pretty details for me to play with too. After the getting ready we headed over the Belvedere Suite where the ceremony was going to take place on the Balcony overlooking Lake Louise and the mountains beyond…
It was a small gathering of close family and friends. I followed Nyla as she snuck toward the suite and then I ran upstairs to capture her entrance! It was a sweet ceremony. Afterwards we braved the cold and rain and took photos outside on the hotel grounds before heading back to the suite for a few more shots. Just as we were packing it up for the day, the sun broke though and we took some of my favourite photos of the day!
Don’t be deceived… it was darn chilly in Lake Louise that day!

Canmore Wedding Photographer | Bethany & Jason at Silvertip Resort | Sneak Peek
A few weeks ago I had a super busy wedding weekend and left the rain behind in Edmonton to head out to Canmore for Bethany and Jason’s wedding at Silvertip Resort. I am absolutely in love with the first dance photos where they danced outside on the patio with the golf course and the rocky mountains as a breathtaking backdrop.
