Barrhead Wedding Photographer | Markus and Jen’s chilly winter wedding

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind with lots of wedding action for us! On December 11, 2010, Trisha and I zoomed off to Barrhead for Jennifer and Markus’s winter wedding. It was a crazy chilly day with temperatures around -20 degrees. We joined Jen at the salon before heading to her parent’s home to watch the girls get ready and Trisha joined the boys at Jen and Markus’s house. The ceremony was at the Barrhead United Church which was just a minute away from the getting ready frenzy. After the ceremony (which featured Jen singing to her new husband), we headed back to Jen’s parents house for family photos so everyone could keep warm before heading off to the family farm to shoot a few of the bridal party in the freezing cold early evening. I’m amazed that the girls could even stand to be outside for more than a few seconds considering just how cold it was! After the farm, we went to the reception at the Westlock Community Centre and it was just beautifully decorated in a winter wonderland theme (yup, a post on the details and decor is coming shortly)! It was a great day! Congratulations Jen and Markus!

Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Wedding Photo sneak peek! Jen & Markus’s winter wedding in Barrhead

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

Yesterday I was in Barrhead (and Westlock too) for Jen and Markus’s winter wedding! It was about -20 degrees when we went to shoot the formals outside and everyone was freezing but we still managed to get a few great shots before heading off to a warmer locale. This one is one of my favourites from the outdoor session on Jen’s family farm!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Hey all! Thought I’d give a bit of an update on how things been going over the Summer here at ENV Photography! I am up to my ears in weddings, and have spent the day configuring a new speedy computer system that will help my get more work done! I’m a little behind on the blog posts, but hoping to catch up in the next few weeks. I actually have a break this weekend coming… my first weekend off in I don’t know how long! Don’t get me wrong, i love weddings, but I think I’ll enjoy having Saturday to myself to sleep in! Also to super happy to have my Derek back after he went to Europe for most of August. He had an awesome time in Germany and Holland, i’m just jealous that I wasn’t able to go with him! The kittiens and I missed him terribly!  He took some great photos and I think he has developed a liking for photography! Perhaps I will have my honey shooting weddings with me before long! Things have also been busy with meeting new couples and booking awesome weddings for 2011! I’m pretty darn excited! Ok, off to drag myself home… must leave the studio… G’night!

Red Deer Wedding Photographers | Amber & Bill’s outdoor wedding in Red Deer Country

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

A few weeks ago, July 24 to be exact, we were in Red Deer County on the nicest day in July (after a month of rain and crazy weather) for Amber and Bill’s wedding that took place in Amber’s parent’s backyward (well, and front yard too) in Red Deer County. It was a gorgeous hot day, with fabulously blue skies and the ceremony took place on the front lawn. We went across the street to a cool little knoll to start with the “formal” pictures and had a good time taking photos of the family there too. The guys decided to have some fun on the swings and were pretty adventurous for leaping off from great heights while they were waiting. We also headed down the street to shoot near a canola field, and Trish decided to stop this awesome purple Corvette Stringray that was driving by to see if we could pose by the car… fabulous! The wedding reception was under a tent filled with red, orange and yellow paper lanterns and was beautiful! We had such a great time in Red Deer and Amber & Bill are such fabulous people! So happy that we could be there to record it all for them!

After we left to head back to Edmonton, we decided to stop in Lacombe for snacks and a potty break and I fell in love with the little town! I want to photograph weddings in Lacombe, so if you are thinking about getting married there… we need to have a chat! Well, actually, I’d love to photograph some more weddings i Red Deer too!
