Summer seems like so long ago… and here I am finally blogging this gorgeous portrait shoot with Jaquie in the canola fields just north of Edmonton. It was a gorgeous day with a gorgeous subject… pretty much perfect really! Well, except for the plague of mosquitos, but that seems to be the theme for the summer of 2011 here. Enjoy a few of my favourites as we dream about warm summer (and forget about the impending snowstorm tomorrow!).

Wedding Bouquet Inspiration | Glam Red & Black wedding flowers with French Netting
This fabulous red and black bouquet is super glam and it is a very bold choice for a wedding bouquet! The red roses are covered by a layer of French netting (the stuff used for birdcage veils) and has a mix of black crystal for a little shine. There are hints of orange tucked into this bouquet, but i think it would be amazing with solid red roses. This bouquet is definitely making a statement! This bouquet was created by Janine Sebastian, formerly of La Piazza Dasee.

Wedding Bouquet Inspiration | Black Brooch Bouquet by La Piazza Dasee
How can I even use words to describe the sheer awesomeness of this black feather and brooch bouquet? It’s pretty much the epitome of all wedding bouquets. Looking for a little glamour? This one is it! So much sparkle! So very shiny! And, well, it’s Black! You can’t go wrong with black. It’s just amazing. This amazing bouquet was made by Janine Sebastian (formerly of La Piazza Dasee) and it’s just spectacular!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Adam & Satomi | intimate wedding at the Legislature
Adam and Satomi were married in a very intimate wedding ceremony at the Legislature grounds early in September. There were just 6 of us there to watch them take their vows and become husband and wife. We followed up the ceremony with a few photos with their friends and had a quick portrait session before they went off to a fabulous wedding brunch. It was a nice change to have intimate ceremony without all of the fuss of a big wedding and you could really just focus in on their excitement to be married. I loved that Satomi wore red and she had the most beautiful flowers!
Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Jamie & Mitchell | Derrick Club wedding in Edmonton
Woweee, this one is taking up back a while to the sultry hot days of summer… End of August, in fact. It was a wickedly hot day for Jamie and Mitchell’s wedding that was held at the Derrick Golf and Country Club in Edmonton. Hair and make-up ran behind so we only managed to get about 15 minutes of Jamie getting ready before sprinting off to a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. We did photos at the club and spent some time with the lawn tractors… which were pretty special because Jamie and Mitchell met while working maintenance at a golf course. I thought it made for pretty fun photos! The reception was also held at the club and it was just beautiful. I think Jamie and Mitchell had my favourite wedding cake of the whole season… too bad the wickedly hot weather didn’t treat the cake too well and it succumbed to the heat and fell over
It was such a great wedding and I’m so happy that I was there to capture such a great time!!
Jamie had beautiful blue details… the sapphire earrings, the the blue in her dress… and it went so well with the hot raspberry of her shoes and flowers!
Ok boys, swoon a little for these babies… that’s right… Darth Vader and Storm Troopers cuff links! Pretty awesome Star Wars wedding action here!
The flowers from Swish were gorgeous!
The ceremony location was beautiful outside at the Derrick.
Our first glimpse of the beautiful bride!
