Last week I met up with Elise and Jason for a mini engagement session. We intended to shoot at the Castledowns skatepark for my favourite urban style setting, but it was waaaaay too busy that evening so we headed out to an abandoned farm area just north of the city to shoot instead. Jason & Elyse are getting married in Edmonton in August.

Hot summer wedding in Sherwood Park with Tracey and Marek
Monday, June 21st, 2010Saturday, June 12, 2010 found me in Sherwood Park, AB for Tracey and Marek’s daisy themed wedding on a super warm summer day. The Ceremony and Recption took place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, with the reception in the hall underneath the church. We headed East with a very large wedding party to do the “formal” shots on a side road, pretty much in the middle of nowhere! At least we didn’t have to worry about other bridal parties being in the way since we had the place to ourselves, just with the occasional visit from the locals driving through! The reception was a great time and it the evening kicked off with a traditional Polish Bread & Salt blessing and also the vodka/water shots to determine who get’s to “wear the pants” in the house… Tracey got the vodka shot!
Congratulations to Tracey and Marek!
Spotlight: Bouquet and centrepieces by The Wild Orchid
Monday, June 14th, 2010Last Friday, before running off to catch a wedding rehearsal, I stopped by The Wild Orchid (gosh I love my neighbours) to photograph the centrpieces and bride’s bouquet for a wedding that they put together for June 12. I loved the bright yellow callas and all of the colour in the bride’s bouquet. I also especially loved the use of metal and rocks in the glass cylinders. These awesome centrepieces are only $20 each too! Way to make an elegant centrpiece that doesn’t break the bank!
