Yesterday, May 2/09, we ventured for a little drive West to Stony Plain under glorious blue skies to get ready for Sandra and Evan’s wedding. The weather was great while we were getting ready and as we left for the ceremony we could se the dark clouds creeping in… After the delightful Ceremony at the Blueberry Community Hall (I love the name!), as everyone stepped outside for family pictures, the now black skies opened up and started to pour. So much for the family photos outside – there weren’t enough umbrellas, so back inside we went. However, we had a brave bridal party, and we were ready with a small army of umbrellas, so we went out to Centennial Park to start the wedding party photos. In spite of the neverending and bitterly cold rain (I must add the the wind also decided to pick up and it felt more like January for a while as opposed to being May!) and constantly fighting to keep the rain off my lenses, we took some great pictures before heading about 2 kilometres away to the outdoor skatepark in Stony Plain where the skies just so happened to be an amazing shade of blue… and the sun came back in full force in time to do a few more fun formals before heading back to the Hall for dinner and dancing! Sandra looked amazing, Evan was dashing, and the bridal party, gorgeous! The flowers were beautiful (Panda Flowers in Spruce Grove), the food was tasty (Elizabethan Catering), and the cake was a masterpiece (Bake Me A Cake)! It couldn’t have been a more perfect day!

There are lots of nice reception venues and ceremony locations in Stony Plain and Spruce Grove. Lots of great options for the formal photos too!
