Free RING SHOT marathon, chez moi on Sunday, March 22, 2009

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

It may or or may not be obvious by now, but I love engagement and wedding rings! I love them so much that I am obsessed with photographing them!

To fuel my obsession, I am offering a FREE ring shot session at my home on Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 10 am to 4 pm. I will need about 15 minutes of your time while I work my magic on your rings to produce a work of art! Check out the posting on bride.ca about my ring shots. They called them stunning!

While you are waiting, my army of four cats will be sure to entertain while you enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and something to nibble on. I will also have a certified wedding planner on site for you chat with and keep you company while I photograph your rings. Not a bad deal, hey??

So, you might be wondering what’s in it for you? Well, I will provide the hi-res files with permission to print of the best shots from your session and a 5×7 print of your favourite photograph, and that’s it! Your ring shot could be used for your Save The Date cards, as placeholders at the reception, etc.

Please do bring along any items or props with esthetic or sentimental value that you would like to have in the composition of your rings. I will, of course, have lots of other items to use as well.

Please contact me to set up your appointment and get my address.

***Please be advised that I do have 4 lovely cats, so if you do have allergies, you can still do the shoot, but I’m not sure how much fun it will be to hang out on the porch!

Be sure to tell your friends!

A few things to consider when choosing your wedding photographer

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Choosing a photographer for your big day is a very difficult decision.

In addition to your budget, you also need to consider the style of photographs that appeal to you most. Do you like posed, traditional, candid, photojournalistic, etc.? The style of processing that each photographer is unique, so be sure that you like the finish that is applied to the images. Do you like crisp black and white images? Do you like super saturated colours? Do you like faded antique images? If you love bold colour, someone who processes with a pale undersaturated palatte may not be the photographer for you.

Just as important as photographic style, it is absolutely necessary for you to “click” with your photographer. Personality plays an important role in the flow of the wedding day. If you find your photographer annoying when you are just starting to get ready, just imagine how violent you will feel toward them after being on your feet (in gorgeous shoes, of course) for 12 hours! Meeting your photographer in person (when possible) is a good way to make sure you are compatible with each other. When you are comfortable with your photographer, and your photographer is comfortable with you, it shows! An engagement session also helps you get to know your photographer better, and it allows your photographer to see how you react in front of the camera to be better prepared on your big wedding day!

If you haven’t yet made a decision on your photographer, please consider taking a peek at ENV Photography and you may be pleasantly surprised!
