For our wedding anniversary, Derek and I took a road trip to Vancouver to just get away, relax and see some friends. Of course I can’t just go away and not take my cameras, and I was really wanting to photograph a couple in Vancouver. Chelse & Chad had a destination wedding a year and a half ago and were happy to do some more wedding photos closer to home in Vancouver. Stanley Park is a pretty special place. Everywhere I looked there were beautiful spots for photos with the most spectacular sunlight coming through the crazy tall trees. Here’s one of my favourite photos from their post-wedding photo session in the park. It’s right out of a fairy tale! I really hope I can get back to Vancouver to photograph some weddings!

Kate & Marc were married on May the Fourth.. and there were some very cool Star Wars details mixed in along the day. Their wedding was at the Timm’s Centre on the University of Alberta campus and it was beautiful. We lucked out by having amazing weather… funny that not even a week before we were still up to our ears in snow storms. We stayed around the campus to get a little green before heading down to the river valley for more wedding party photos. Here’s one of my favourite photos of Kate & Marc… congratulations!

You might have noticed me talking about Amy before since she’s the one who gave me my start in the world of photography and she had been second shooting weddings with me recently until she decided to move back to Newfoundland. So a few days before she moved all the way across the country, we went out for a little photoshoot with Amy and and her awesome daughter, Bridget. Mill Creek Ravine is awfully pretty in October! These are some of my favourites from the day and they help me remember how great they are when I miss them terribly (all the time).

No, your eyes don’t deceive you… Theresa had three gorgeous dresses for her wedding day in the Wedgewood Room at Hotel MacDonald. It really could have been more perfect. The decor was amazing and Rob & Theresa, along with friends and family, put it all together themselves… including the focal point of the room, the beautiful big tree! After getting ready, Rob & Theresa had their “First Look” in the middle of the room and then popped out for a few photos before joining their guests for a pre-ceremony mingle (check out Theresa’s hot red dress!). Shortly thereafter, with a costume change, it was ceremony time and it was just beautiful with a pretty sweet moment celebrating their new family unit. After the ceremony Their were family photos and the GiggleBooth kicked off before a fantastic dinner was served. The evening was lively with speeches, a few serenades and, i think, the most surprising wedding first dance I’ve yet to witness! Congratulations Rob & Theresa!

Jenny and Kerrie picked an awesome date for their wedding – 12.12.12. Yup, that’s right, December 12, 2012. Pretty cool date! It also happened to be a super chilly day, but that didn’t stop it from being beautiful. I met up with Jenny at the Union Bank Inn for a little Bridal Boudoir before we started getting ready… I’m only going to show one of those boudoir shots… It’s good to be a tease! Jenny was surrounded by some pretty fantastic ladies while she got ready. Once everyone was all dolled up, we went to the ceremony at All Saints Cathedral a few blocks away. After the ceremony we braved the cold to shoot outside near Grant McEwan before going to faBLOOMosity for thei indoor wedding photos (The Wild Orchid did the flowers for the wedding, but faBLOOMosity let us shoot in their beautiful store… Thanks Janine!) After leaving the shop, we stopped to get a few more outside shots before going back to the Union Bank Inn for the reception that was perfectly pink and vintage featuring lace and pearls… gorgeous!! It was a great day! Congratulations Jenny & Kerrie!
